DISC Origins
William Moulton Marston
William Moulton Marston was a renowned psychologist, inventor, and comic book writer, known for creating the Wonder Woman character. He held a doctorate in Psychology from Harvard and was a professor at American University. His diverse career reflected his interest in understanding and representing human behaviour.
Marston developed the DISC theory in the 1920s, focusing on four primary emotions and associated behavioural responses.
His work emphasised understanding emotional behaviour to better manage people and relationships, laying the foundation for modern DISC assessments used in various sectors today.
